Emergency Cards

In emergency situations DSA members might like to have in their possession an emergency card.  The card can be used to inform medical technicians, nurses, doctors and other medical personnel that you are deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf-blind.  The card will contain your name, emergency contacts, and your interpreter(s).  It also contains the ADA law, including an 800 phone number which the medical personnel can call for information.

Such card has been created for your use by Western Pennsylvania Health Information through its website.  Visit the website, and instructions will be given on how to create your own emergency card.  You then can print it and cut it to billfold size, so you can have it all time in your billfold.

This message is a part of the information that Deaf Seniors of America wishes to share with deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf-blind senior citizens.
